Due to recent state budget cuts, we have reduced

Clubhouse operations to one day a week. We are

meeting every Monday at the Blue Ridge Independent

Living Center on Williamson Rd. from 9am to 3pm.

We hope to be moving soon to a new location. We will

continue to diligently raise funds in order to resume full

operations as soon as possible.

We are accepting donations. No amount is too

small or too large.

Welcome!

We are so glad that you have come to visit us. Please take a moment to look around our website so that you can learn more about the Phoenix Star Clubhouse, a program of Brain Injury Resource and Development Center, Inc.

The Phoenix Star Clubhouse is the only resource of its kind in Western Virginia to specifically address the needs of individuals with brain injuries. The Phoenix Star Clubhouse is a person-centered place for people with brain injuries to come together in a positive and supportive environment. The main focus of the Phoenix Star Clubhouse is to assist individuals with brain injuries to lead productive lives. This is achieved though involvement in the surrounding community, looking for and researching vocational opportunities, and volunteering at local agencies.

What is a Clubhouse?

The Clubhouse model was developed in 1948.

A Clubhouse is a place where people with similar experiences come together to work, learn, socialize and support one another.

There are hundreds of Clubhouses worldwide but only a small handful exists for people with brain injuries. There are 7 brain injury Clubhouses in the state of Virginia.
