Admission Criteria

In order to be eligible for Clubhouse membership, individuals must meet the following minimum criteria.  They must:
            Have a documented brain injury and be at least 18 years of age;
            Be free of severe behavioral challenges that would disrupt group activities or
            cause a threat to others;
            Be willing to commit to the Clubhouse Substance Abuse Policy;
            Arrange his or her transportation to and from the clubhouse;
            Have no medical problems that interfere with participation in the Clubhouse;
            Be able to meet personal needs and basic self-care independently.
            Be able to communicate with others through speech or assistive technology; and
            Be willing and able to follow Clubhouse guidelines.

Who gets to recommend members?

  • An individual living with the effects of a Traumatic or Acquired Brain Injury;
  • A family member, or;
  • A service provider

Membership

Clubhouse membership is for life.  A member can exit and re-enter the Clubhouse after a period of absence;
Each member is asked to contribute a daily fee to help with the costs.  There will also be a $2.00 charge for lunch.
If there is a financial hardship, a sliding scale fee can be arranged with the Clubhouse manager.

Who can’t be a member of the Clubhouse?

Anyone with a documented history of inappropriate behavioral issues.
Example include: Aggression, violence, threatening others, suicidal ideation or sexually inappropriate behaviors.
